You know how good a cold glass of water tastes when you’re really thirsty. Or how great a cool breeze feels when you’re really hot. That’s the way it feels to me when I look out across the Puget Sound, or any large body of water, on a clear, beautiful day. It almost feels like something inside me is pulled to it, the water, the sky, the horizon. Like a longing to be a part of it. Is it just me, or do you feel that way sometimes, too?
What is it they say, that up to 60% of the human body is water. Maybe that’s what it is. Like calling to like. Or maybe it’s more elemental than that. Maybe it means that all life did evolve from a microorganism in the sea. Or maybe I’m just full of it. What do you think?
